Dark and incredibly concentrated with earth black fruits mint and exotic side notes. It's stout and tannic but also rich and pure with monster black fruit flavor and powerful coffee toast and length on the finish. A smashing wine that's huge but delicious. Drink now through 2017. - M.S.

High-toned aromas of blackberry violet dark chocolate mocha licorice and sexy oak. Large-scaled and lush but not at all fat or sloppy thanks to a firm edge of acidity and substantial tongue-dusting tannins. Deeply spice aromatic wine with strong flavors of black fruits licorice and violet; a bit more chunky than the Calpyso but certainly bigger.

Youthful inky purple hue (even after 5 years of bottle age). Aromas of mocha sweet plum hoisin sauce and cedary vanilla lead into a palate that is round and supple loaded with gobs blackberry and blueberry fruit along with pepper ground coffee and soy. The excellent balance as well as the tertiary earth and mineral notes bring 2009 Right Bank Bordeaux to mind however Napa cab fans will also be very impressed. Full-bodied and lush with a lingering finish that goes on for 2 full minutes. Enjoy now after a good decant or cellar for up to 5 years. This is a perfect foil for a pan seared peppercorn steak.
