The 2007 Barolo Monserra shows excellent focus and energy in a core of bright red fruit flowers and mint. This is an energetic somewhat nervous style especially within the context of the year but the wine shows excellent balance and harmony. The oak is a bit dominant at this stage. If it integrates the Monserra might very well merit a higher score. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2022. -AG
