The 2007 Pinot Noir was apparently a very dry vintage at the estate, an early vintage when Hannes was called back from his honeymoon to oversee the picking! It has a vibrant peppermint-tinged bouquet with luscious red cherries, candied orange peel and spice. Returning after a couple minutes that minty element has turned to eucalyptus. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins and a core of tart, red fruit laced with orange rind and sea salt. Good structure on the finish, this should continue drinking well for another five or six years. - Neal Martin
