Sourced from the Wyjup and Bouvray vineyards in the Great Southern region, and matured for 18 months in 40% new French oak, the 2007 Plantagenet Shiraz is outstanding, delivering beautiful aromatics of meaty black fruits, black olive, dark chocolate, and minerality on the nose. This is followed by a medium+ bodied wine that has great fruit, a full, concentrated mid-palate, and a good, focused finish. Certainly leaning towards the meatier, complex side of the spectrum, this should drink well for a decade. - Jeb Dunnuck
