Tasted at the chateau. Cropped at 52hl/ha, the 2007 Sociando-Mallet is a blend 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc, this has a more floral bouquet, quite light and slightly clayey at the moment. It has a fresh entry, good acidity, just a touch of astringency towards the tannic, stemmy, masculine finish. A little tough at the moment but it should improve over the next 3-4 years because it demonstrated good weight and focus. Drink 2011-2018.
