In 1932, Pierre Taittinger, captivated by the Champagne region and by Chateau de la Marquetterie, developed a champagne business with his brother-in-law Paul Eveque. His son Francois took the torch 13 years later, making improvements to both the cellars and the vineyards. Step by step, he established the Taittinger brand as one of the great Champagne houses, known for its Chardonnay-dominant cuvees and in particular, the prestigious Comtes de Champagne.

Taittinger was sold to US investment group Starwood in 2005, but was bought back by the family a year later. Today, Pierre-Emmanuel Taittinger has built a team to embark on a new adventure in the spirit of conquest and continuity, including the production of sparkling wine in the English region of Kent.

Introducing the exquisite 2007 Taittinger Comtes de Champagne Rosé, a true gem from the esteemed Champagne region of France. This vintage is a testament to the mastery of winemaking and the art of blending, resulting in a wine that is both elegant and complex.

In the glass, this Champagne displays a captivating rose color, reminiscent of delicate rose petals. The nose is a tapestry of aromas, with notes of blood orange, minty raspberries, and red plums intertwining with dried flowers and warm brioche. It is a symphony of scents that entices the senses and sets the stage for the sensory journey to come.

On the palate, the 2007 Comtes de Champagne Rosé showcases its medium to full-bodied character and chalky texture, creating a delightful mouthfeel. Its racy and chiseled profile, akin to its Blanc de Blancs counterpart, adds an extra layer of complexity. The flavors are deep and concentrated, with a tightly wound structure that reveals itself gradually. The finish is long and sapid, leaving a lasting impression.

Renowned wine critics have praised this exceptional Champagne. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate awarded it an impressive 96 points, describing it as intense and racy, with a promising future ahead. James Suckling, another esteemed critic, awarded it an astonishing 99 points, comparing its finesse and complexity to that of a lightly aged, premier-cru Volnay. Wine Spectator also gave it a high score of 96 points, emphasizing its harmonious nature and silky texture. Decanter magazine awarded it 97 points, commending its exuberant nose and compact, fresh palate.

Crafted by the esteemed house of Taittinger, this Comtes de Champagne Rosé is a testament to their commitment to excellence. The blend is composed of 70% Pinot Noir, including 15% still red wine from Bouzy, and 30% Chardonnay from Grands Crus vineyards. This combination results in a wine that beautifully showcases the characteristics of the Champagne region.

For those seeking a truly exceptional Champagne experience, the 2007 Taittinger Comtes de Champagne Rosé is a must-try. Its finesse, complexity, and long aging potential make it a wine to savor and cherish for years to come. Open a bottle and indulge in the artistry of Champagne.
