Toasty spicy savoury and intense - but then from the mid-palate onwards it turns all aristocratic pulling long and fine and boney. What gorgeous shape this wine has. It has an array of fruit/berried flavours and complexity studded throughout. Length is not an issue. Just a ripper.

The 2008 Block 5 Pinot Noir is finer and more expressive. Displaying a pale to medium ruby color it has slightly funky wild ferment aromas over a core of freshly crushed strawberries balsamic cinnamon and espresso plus a whiff of bacon. The medium to full bodied palate is very impressive giving a good balance of crisp acidity concentrated complex fruit and earth flavors a medium level of silky tannins and a long finish. This can be enjoyed now though it will continue to give pleasure to 2015+. -Lisa Perrotti-Brown

Light and juicy with a peppery edge to the plum and spice flavors hovering deftly over an airy texture that lets the flavors sail through the refined finish. Lingers expressively. Drink now through 2016. 320 cases made. -HS

Vibrant red fruits and flowers on the nose with sexy Asian spices adding complexity. Juicy palate-staining raspberry and cherry flavors are complemented by cinnamon anise and candied rose picking up a subtle blood orange quality with air. The finish features a penetrating spicy note of star anise and leaves a sweet raspberry flavor behind.
