Then rich silky and deep offering a captivating combination of stuffing and energy. Finishes very long and perfumed with broad suave fine-grained tannins. This highly concentrated wine will also need extended aging before it reaches its peak 92(+?)

Peat tobacco wood smoke juniper berry and fresh blackberry scent the Boillot 2008 Pommard Jarollieres which follows through on the palate in smoky piquant pungent tart fashion at once staining and enervating the palate. An underlying richness of roasted meats and an emerging sweetness of purple plum come to the rescue - if you perceive aggressive tartness and leanness as a threat - and the result is a balance of forces that isn't static but on the contrary positively vibratory. I'd take a chance on cellaring this for 8-10 years perhaps longer depending on what interim inspections reveal. -David Schildknecht
