This is almost a blend of the Les Clos and the Preuses and while there is a discreet hint of sulfur presently marring the nose it should diminish to invisibility in due course. A green fruit citrus stone and floral suffused nose introduces rich round delicious and refined middle weight flavors that offer fine length and depth on the lingering finish where the oak resurfaces. This is certainly solid but lacks the same dimensionality of its two grand cru stable mates.

It has an open and generous bouquet with orange zest, dried grapefruit, nectarine and dried honey. The palate is very well-balanced with fine acidity - hints of white peach and nectarine on the entry, becoming a little more resinous toward the finish that shows excellent weight and persistency in the mouth. This is drinking beautifully at the moment, but certainly in large formats it will continue to age. Drink now-2020. - NEAL MARTIN

($99; bottled in March; vinified in 800-liter concrete eggs then aged half in the eggs and half in older f u ts More exotic spicy nose than the Clos hinting at soft citrus fruits and nutmeg. Large-scaled and round on the palate a bit less crystalline in its tex ture than the Clos with the spicy character following through in the mouth. This fat but refined wine comes across as very perfumed after the last few samples but its underlying firmness suggests it will reward several years of aging. Less minerally than the Clos and Valmur though. 91(+?)
