The Drouhin Vaudon 2008 Chablis Bougros exhibits the most vibrant personality of their current collection. Scents of lily and hibiscus mingle seductively with lime and pineapple in a nose that signals both the primary fruit intensity and haunting inner-mouth florality to follow. Subtle chalkiness underlies the lusciously ripe pineapple and peach while citricity seems to maintain a continuous and delightfully-invigorating jolt of electricity.- DS

A ripe and admirably pure nose of various orchard fruits and tidal pool hints that can also be found on the big rich and broad-shouldered flavors that display an overt muscularity on the delicious and mouth coating finish. As is to be expected with Bougros this is not a wine of finesse but rather of frank brawn.
