Giaconda's 2008 Chardonnay is every bit as good as I remember it. It's developing into a broad rich nutty styled white with aromas of warm peaches apricots and butterscotch over hints of ginger mace and yeast extract. The palate is far more elegant than the nose suggests with a silken texture medium to full body and concentrated flavor layers. The richness is nicely offset by a fine acid backbone and it finishes with a great persistence of savory / toasty flavors. Delicious now it should cellar to 2020+.

Bright straw-green; has all the textural complexity for which Giaconda is rightly revered creamy/nutty characters held by perfectly balanced acidity the mid-palate with pristine nectarine and melon fruit oak at once omnipresent yet subtle.

This has come and gone in terms of ex-cellar but for the record it's a super release. It's a tremendous wine experience - from the first impression to the last. Almonds white and yellow fruits burnt matches and meal. There's creaminess and toastiness spiciness and sweetness - the flavours and textures crashing through in waves. An upper echelon Giaconda chardonnay release. 95+

Toasty spicy and complex this is polished to a gleam and redolent of ripe pear pineapple honey and butterscotch finishing with just enough acidity to keep it refreshing and impeccable. Shows tremendous depth and vibrancy. Drink now through 2020. -HS
