Deeply pitched but energetic offering bright orchard fruit flavors and a deeper note of peach pit. Then spicy dry and penetrating on the finish which features notes of iodine and bitter herbs. Shows an intriguing blend of richness and vivacity and should be even better with a few years of bottle age. -JR

Delivers a tight taut laser beam of flavors riding lively acidity that carries the green apple pineapple citrus and honeydew melon notes. Gains depth and velocity and is built to gain even more with cellaring. Drink now... The medium to full-bodied 2008 Chardonnay Ritchie Vineyard offers scents of pineapples pears honeysuckle and subtle spicy oak. With good power density and richness it should drink nicely for 4-5 years.

From old vine Wente Clone planted in the mid-1970's in Kent Ritchie's eponymous vineyard this is classicly balanced Russian River Valley chardonnay. Vanilla white chocolate and a touch of white blossoms dominate the nose. The mouth-watering vanilla continues onto the palate while the lees aging adds layers of complexity amd a touch of pineapple sweetness underlines the wine and continues through on the finish. The mid-palate is deliciously mouth-filling and the overall structure of the wine points to long ageability. Mouth watering right now you can also lay down to watch it evolve. One of the top domestic chardonnays I've had!
