Opening in the glass with aromas of red berries, fresh peach, rose petal and spices including cardamon and cinnamon, it's medium to full-bodied, vinous and textural, with excellent concentration and a structured core, girdled by lively acids and concluding with a long and mineral finish. - William Kelley

The colour...   The 1522 Rosé in 2008 is essentially the same blend as its Brut sibling, with 58% Pinot Noir and 42% Chardonnay, including 10% added as red wine from the highest, south-facing plots on the Clos des Goisses. The colour, fading bronze, presages a wine of great precision and depth, with soft spices and red fruits at its finely etched core. Its savoury potential and gentle tannins eavesdrop carefully on the celebration. The 4.5g of residual sugar are very finely judged.
