A gorgeous Gevrey this exudes floral and sweet berry aromas that lead a beam of cherry flavor with notes of blackberry spice and mineral. This seems pretty for the appellation yet there's density and grip to its tannins. Best from 2013 through 2027. -BS

Here the nose is clean and fresh with a discreet touch of wood framing overtly earthy and attractively layered dark berry fruit aromas that possess a hint of animale that can also be discerned on the rich full and mouth coating flavors that possess obvious volume and punch plus I like the texture of the vibrant finish that offers fine depth and length. The other aspect that I like is all of the Gevrey character this exudes. In a word lovely. Outstanding.

The 2008 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Fontenys is outstanding. There is tons of harmony in the glass. This shows marvelous intensity in its perfumed dark fruit mint white flowers and sweet spices. It is a terrific effort from Serafin. Anticipated maturity: 2016-2028.
