There is moderate reduction yet the earth and animale character of a typical Mazoyères is on display where both elements carry over to the supple generous rich and full-bodied flavors that are powerful and serious culminate in a textured rustic and vibrant finish that coats the palate with sap. This won't win any prizes for elegance but it is an admirably classic example of the appellation.
