Dark full generous and ripe to the far edge of elegance this powerful Pinot is saturated with black fruits annotated with fennel pepper smoke and espresso the rich and varied flavors rolling right through a lush midpalate... Dark full generous and ripe to the far edge of elegance this powerful Pinot is saturated with black fruits annotated with fennel pepper smoke and espresso the rich and varied flavors rolling right through a lush midpalate and on into a gently fading finish. Retasted over 24-48 hours it continued to evolve and develop additional nuances. A wine to cellar for a decade or more.- P.G.

Sleek and tangy tightly focusing its cherry raspberry and mineral flavors on a taut frame. Finishes with intensity and a hint of black olive. Drink now through 2018. -HS

Deep but not in the least overdone and a bit on the firm side in balance the 2008 Evenstad Reserve is a mid-sized Pinot Noir of quiet complexity and grace with a trim mix of ripe red cherries sweet oak green tea and herbs... Deep but not in the least overdone and a bit on the firm side in balance the 2008 Evenstad Reserve is a mid-sized Pinot Noir of quiet complexity and grace with a trim mix of ripe red cherries sweet oak green tea and herbs running its length. It is not a big wine and it shows more a little more lean muscle than fat and while it takes on a bit of tightening last-minute tannin another few years in the cellar are sure to set most everything right.

This is exceptionally fresh and beautifully complex with a spicy nose of various red berry fruit and floral aromas. The succulent even opulent medium weight flavors possess a plush mouth feel as the firm yet silky tannins... This is exceptionally fresh and beautifully complex with a spicy nose of various red berry fruit and floral aromas. The succulent even opulent medium weight flavors possess a plush mouth feel as the firm yet silky tannins impart a sophisticated texture to the dusty firm and overtly spicy finish. Because the tannins are so ripe and pliant this could easily be enjoyed now though for my taste I would allow it to mature for a few more years first.

Dark and chocolaty this yields hints of raspberries with air. The palate has a tea-like accent and a seamless texture with plenty of oak to mark the finish. Give it time in the cellar to knit.

Serene, Domaine

Founded in 1989 by Ken and Grace Evenstad, Domaine Serene is an iconic producer of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, including Evenstad Reserve Pinot Noir, recognized as the world’s #3 Wine of 2013 by Wine Spectator Magazine.

Located in the Dundee Hills of the Northern Willamette Valley, Domaine Serene’s six vineyard estates comprise over 700 acres, with 240 currently under vine. This offers a diversity of soils, clones and microclimates that drive complexity and elegance in its wines. All vineyards are dry-farmed and LIVE certified.

In April 2015, the Evenstads expanded upon their original vision of producing world class Pinot Noir and Chardonnay by purchasing Chateau de la Cree, a Burgundy wine estate in the Cote d’Or.
