The 2008 Maximin Grunhaus Riesling Abtsberg Superior is more refined in texture than the corresponding Herrenberg; features generous ripe honeydew melon enhanced by herbs and nut oils; and lingers with succulence invigoration herbal pungency and wet stone. The richness here represents an advance over that of the corresponding Herrenberg with the judicious residual sugar very supportive; with welcome refreshment; and with no sacrifice of transparency to saline and stony mineral nuances. I suspect this will be worth following for 15 years.
