IWC 92
Stephen Tanzer's IWC - Stephen Tanzer's IWC, February 2010
Unctuous aromas of guava green apple and bacon fat. Offers a succulent melon texture accented by a salty minerality. Finishes rich pure and tantalizingly dry. In the off-dry style one of the wines of the vintage.

The 2008 Maximin Grunhaus Riesling Abtsberg Superior is more refined in texture than the corresponding Herrenberg; features generous ripe honeydew melon enhanced by herbs and nut oils; and lingers with succulence invigoration herbal pungency and wet stone. The richness here represents an advance over that of the corresponding Herrenberg with the judicious residual sugar very supportive; with welcome refreshment; and with no sacrifice of transparency to saline and stony mineral nuances. I suspect this will be worth following for 15 years.

Wine Spectator - Wine Spectator, April 2010
Juicy and linear with a savory spicy component adding depth to the apple and pear flavors. A bit firm on the back end but a little age should help integrate all the elements. Best from 2011 through 2017. â_"BS
