The nose slowly opens to reveal red and dark berries cherry and smoky herbs with hints of black cardamom and singed plum adding complexity. Potent dark berry and bitter cherry flavors are given spine by slow-mounting acidity with the smoky note repeating. Becomes more floral with air and leaves notes of rose and violet pastille behind on the smoky sneakily sweet persistent finish. This one needs some air or bottle age. -Josh Raynolds
