Blended of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Petit Verdot and 8% Cabernet Franc, the deep garnet colored 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon leaps from the glass with classic notes of warm cassis, plum preserves, cedar chest and pencil lead with underlying accents of kirsch, chocolate mint, unsmoked cigars and yeast extract. Medium to full-bodied, the palate delivers a lot of freshness and energy, with layers of black fruit and earthy hints supported well by firm, ripe, grainy tannins and tons of freshness, finishing long and savory. - Lisa Perrotti-Brown
