The selections parcellaires whites tasted include the 2009 St.-Joseph Les Granits Blanc (789 cases) which may be the "best buy" of all these selections parcellaires. This 100% Marsanne cuvee exhibits an amazing honeyed orange marmalade character intermixed with notions of crushed rocks spring flowers quince and white currants. Full-bodied and unctuously textured yet remarkably fresh and vibrant it should drink nicely for 15-20 years.

Still tight with blanched almond and pear skin notes holding the core of green fig white peach and salted butter at bay for now. The long finish featuring mineral and floral notes just sails on with terrific intensity... Bright gold. An exotically perfumed, smoky bouquet evokes ripe orchard fruits, candied orange and marzipan. An exotically perfumed, smoky bouquet evokes ripe orchard fruits, candied orange and marzipan. Lush and creamy in texture, with palate-coating pear, peach and vanilla flavors enlivened by a sneaky mineral quality. Shows excellent focus on the broad, clinging finish. This wine could handle the richest foods with ease. -- Josh Raynolds

17.5/20 Deep gold. Quite extraordinary richness and life here. All the early summer blossom you could imagine with a hint of ginger too. There is enough acidity but it tastes as though there is quite a bit of alcohol... 17.5/20 Deep gold. Quite extraordinary richness and life here. All the early summer blossom you could imagine with a hint of ginger too. There is enough acidity but it tastes as though there is quite a bit of alcohol too. A whiff of ginger and a slightly bitter note on the finish are not detrimental. I can’t remember tasting a more exciting white St-Joseph.

100% marsanne. Pale straw-gold in color the aromas are forward and ripe with hints of fruit cocktail and other tropcial fruit flavors along with an intriguing suggestion of fresh talc underneath. This is quite exotic now... 100% marsanne. Pale straw-gold in color the aromas are forward and ripe with hints of fruit cocktail and other tropcial fruit flavors along with an intriguing suggestion of fresh talc underneath. This is quite exotic now with the medium to medium-full bodied fruit weight contributing to a long lingering finish mingling with some mineral components. Tasted as a barrel sample three months before release.
