This is one of the more approachable of the Derenoncourt 2009s, but there is plenty of the trademark textural polish. Expressive Cabernet Franc aromatics add lift and a measure of elegance to this expressive, highly nuanced red. Mocha, espresso and sweet grilled herbs are some of notes that linger on the finish. The 2009 is 66% Cabernet Franc, 29% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Merlot. Anticipated maturity: 2016-2024. - AG
