Here the nose is notably ripe with a very primary indeed even still rather unevolved nose of red pinot fruit and distinct earth nuances where this earthiness is a major component of the rich delicious and quite serious... Here the nose is notably ripe with a very primary indeed even still rather unevolved nose of red pinot fruit and distinct earth nuances where this earthiness is a major component of the rich delicious and quite serious medium-bodied flavors that possess a velvety mouth feel thanks to the ample dry extract that buffers the otherwise firm tannins. Like the Bourgogne this could be drunk relatively soon though it should easily reward 6 to 8 years of cellar time.

Light black raspberry color in glass leads way to aromatics of candied black cherry and crushed pomegranate seed. A spike of truffle cardamom and nutmeg make way on the mid-palate to be whisked away by cleansing acidity... Light black raspberry color in glass leads way to aromatics of candied black cherry and crushed pomegranate seed. A spike of truffle cardamom and nutmeg make way on the mid-palate to be whisked away by cleansing acidity. The finish is focused with hints of mild licorice and tea like tannins round out the package. A solid effort for a village bottling that will be tempting and pleasurable upon release and will age through 2018.
