Extremely pure and seductive aromas and flavors of blackberry Moroccan spices white pepper and incense. Lush on entry but shows impressive energy and sappiness to its black and blue fruit preserve flavors. The palate-staining finish doesn't let up and leaves notes of boysenberry and spice cake behind. This looks to be one of the sexiest wines of the vintage. -JR

Possessing exotic complex aromatics of both red and black fruits river rock decaying flowers leather and roasted meat with hints of licorice and underbrush the wine is medium to full-bodied on the palate and just beautifully put together. Silky elegant and balanced with the textbook Pignan sweetness good acidity and a seamless elegant character this beauty shines more for its complexity and seamless nature than pure power. While already approachable and complex it should benefit from 2-3 years of bottle age and age gracefully for 15 years.

This blend of 95% Grenache and 5% Mourvedre from 95-year-old vines was aged in tank. Notes of underbrush kirsch and raspberries jump from the glass of this medium to dark ruby-colored offering. In the mouth it is tighter and exhibiting more tannin and structure than I would have expected. Cellar it for 2-3 years and drink it over the following 15 years.
