The 2009 Nuits St. Georges Aux Lavieres comes across as a touch delicate and almost fleeting. Sweet dark fruit licorice menthol leather and spices are nicely woven together in this precise Burgundy. This shows lovely precision on the understated finish. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024.

Here the nose is more elegant and slightly fresher as well compared to that of the Les Vignots with its plum and black berry aromas that are liberally laced with Nuits style earth. There is also relatively good refinement to the nicely well-detailed middle weight flavors that possess a silky texture on the delicious and satisfying finish that is not quite as complex. That said this is still a very impressive and decidedly ageworthy villages.
