This is very Vosne with the intense spiciness exhibited by the expressive nose of ripe cassis and blue berry aromas that complement the anise and cinnamon notes that can be found on the rich and silky flavors that brim with dry extract all wrapped in a dusty mouth coating and naturally sweet finish. The 2009 Vosne-Romanee is a touch linear and compact for the vintage but nevertheless shows plenty of intensity and sheer muscle. Here the fruit tends towards darker tonalities of red with notable depth and persistence. Croix used 20% stems in the Vosne. Tasted from barrel. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2021.
