(NM94-96 points) Tasted out of barrel at the Domaine. The Boudots is less expressive on the nose than the Ronciers, a little more taciturn with darker, more broody fruit. There is a hint of grapefruit mixing with the dark berries. The palate is very well structured with great depth and precision, the mineralite showing through more than on the NSG Ronciers, very precise and focused towards the finish that demonstrates great persistency. Lovely.

In 2009, the nose is more Vosne than Nuits with ample amounts of spice to the very ripe liqueur of cassis and red cherries that gives way to highly complex, intense and concentrated medium weight plus flavors that culminate in a rich, suave and superbly long finish. This is right at the limit of what I personally prefer in terms of ripeness but many will find this to be highly seductive.

This juicy red shows both grip and a seamless texture as the wild cherry, berry and spice flavors play out on the finish. The tannins erupt in the end, but are eventually matched by sweet fruit. Distinctive. Best from 2016 through 2032. 100 cases imported. –BS
