IWC 91

Pale yellow. Discreet very pure aromas of peach blossom and spices. Drier and less open than the Champs-Canet but larger-scaled despite the fact that this is from younger vines (19 years old vs. about 40). Good... Pale yellow. Discreet very pure aromas of peach blossom and spices. Drier and less open than the Champs-Canet but larger-scaled despite the fact that this is from younger vines (19 years old vs. about 40). Good underlying minerality gives the wine solid structure but there's less early fat here. Carillon says that the vines' roots are now going deeper hence the greater minerality in the wine. I'd give this three to five years in the cellar before pulling the cork.

More elegant and slightly less overtly ripe aromas feature white flower pear and peach nuances that introduce rich generous and voluminous flavors that possess good mid-palate sap that buffers the moderately firm acid spine that shapes the lightly mineral-inflected and persistent finish. At present this is less complex than the best of these 1ers though it's possible that may change with a few years of bottle age.
