Decanter,

The key to Roederer’s distinctive cuvée is the terroir of its estate in Cumières, the most incredible biodynamic vineyard in Champagne. The sunny 2009 season infused a ripeness framed by tight yet delightfully ripe and...

The clarity of chalk and white almond is striking. Gentle perfume with some light cherry fruits, peach, grapefruit and lemon citrus. The palate has a piercing burst of lemon and grapefruit flavor on the front and builds...

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, June 2018

The bright golden Roederer & Starck 2009 Brut Nature assembles two-thirds Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier with one-third Chardonnay. The grapes come from various parcels in Cumières and were harvested the same day and then...

Wine Enthusiast, December 2017

Designer Philippe Starck was involved in the blending and label design of this Champagne. It is a pure crisp white-fruit-flavored wine, almost austere with intense acidity. Like many great bone dry Champagnes it will need...

Like a racehorse at the gate, this is full of power and energy, and the firm, minerally frame finds its stride thanks to the cloak of fine and creamy mousse carrying flavors of crunchy white peach and pear fruit, grated...

In 1845, at a time when majority of winemakers were buying the grapes rather than cultivating their own, Louis Roederer took a visionary approach. Wanting to master every aspect of the wine’s creation, he acquired several Grand Cru vineyards in Verzenay. Since then, every Louis Roederer vintage originates exclusively from their own vines. Its tete-de-cuvee, Louis Roederer Cristal, is among the finest Champagnes in the world.

The estate, which originally comprised 100 hectares acquired in 1850, now extends over 240 hectares, carefully chosen from the best terroirs of the Montagne de Reims, the Cote des Blancs, and the Vallee de la Marne. The estate cultivates 3 traditional grape varieties: Chardonnay for its minerality, finesse, and elegance; Pinot Noir’s solid constitution which adds structure to the blends and prepares the wine for aging; and Pinot Meunier whose adaptability brings harmony and softness to certain cuvees.

The Louis Roederer House has remained an independent, family-owned company and is now managed by Frederic Rouzaud, who represents the seventh generation of the lineage.
