Miner Family Vineyards is a family-owned California winery tucked along the eastern hills of the Oakville appellation in the heart of Napa Valley and founded in 1998 by Dave and Emily Miner.
After years spent working in the software industry, Dave Miner got his start in wine in 1993 as president of Oakville Ranch Vineyards, owned by his late uncle, Robert Miner. He decided to become a custom crush client and started his own label in 1996.
When the Miner caves were completed in 1999, Dave and Emily purchased the winery building from his family and the first Miner Family wines were released. The inaugural vintage of their flagship wine Oracle, a Bordeaux-style blend, was released in 2004 and the winery was also named “Top Five” All-American wines of 2004 by Bon Appetite Magazine. Another honor was received by Miner Family Winery in 2006 from Wine & Spirits Magazine as a Top 100 “Winery of the Year”.
Miner has no vineyards of its own but sources their grapes from a number of California’s finest vineyard sites that allows complete farming control to ensure their wines’ consistency and quality. The winery crafts wines divided into four categories: Bordeaux-style, Burgundy-style, Rhone-style, and other wines that include Tempranillo, Sangiovese and Rosato.
