Decadent and hedonistically styled the 2009 Mitolo Shiraz G.A.M. is loaded with deep rich aromas of plum sauce crème de cassis roasted meats hints of truffle and licorice that carry to a full-bodied upfront and fruit-driven wine. Needing air to really shine (it was best on the second day) this has a voluptuous richness to its texture solid mid-palate concentration and sweet fruit that carries into a chewy broad finish. While it is certainly delicious and an outstanding wine it's a far cry from the older '03 and '04 vintages.

Deep garnet-purple in color the 2009 G.A.M. Shiraz gives notes of blackberry preserves warm black plums and creme de cassis over olives underbrush Ceylon tea and mace plus a hint of dark chocolate. Full bodied and richly fruited in the mouth it has a medium level of finely grained tannins lively acid and a long finish. Drink it now to 2019.
