A moderately toasty nose displays plenty of both natural and wood spice together with very ripe black cherry and cassis aromas that merge into dense, seductively textured and opulent middle weight flavors that possess a good amount of tannin-buffering sap and fine length along with a mild hint of warmth. I very much like the overall depth and while this is certainly a child of its vintage, it avoids the heaviness that many of its brethren display. 2021+
