The wine is in no way heavy or flat. In fact, it feels infused with remarkable energy and zest. Black fruit, pipe tobacco, licorice and dried mint find perfect integration. In the mouth, the wine’s sheer power has been wrapped within a cloak of silky tannins. Anticipated maturity: 2016-2035. - Monica Larner

The sweet cherry and raspberry flavors are augmented by tobacco, tea and briar notes in this medium-bodied, ripe and supple version, ending with a long, firm finish. Should come together in a few years. Best from 2016... Blueberry, cocoa with hints of spice and cedar aromas. Full body, with firm yet polished tannins and a chili pepper, berry and plum character. Needs three or four years to soften. Very suave and fine-grained, with a cooked strawberry flavor complemented by brown spices, chocolate and truffle. Finishes with big dusty tannins that turn a bit dry. Quite smooth but a bit riper than I prefer my Barolos. Perhaps not the best vintage for this site.
