The 2009 Coteaux du Languedoc la Porte du Ciel features attractive notes of grilled meat, black truffles, garrigue, pepper and savory plum. It's full-bodied, rich and supple, adding chocolate and mocha notes on the long finish. Perhaps worth noting is that this wine was made from vines planted in 1992, so only 17 years of age when the grapes were picked. More recent vintages, from older vines, are even more impressive. - Joe Czerwinski
