Strong reduction blocks the nose though there is plenty of energy and punch to the detailed powerful and lightly mineral-driven flavors that possess both good size and solid weight especially on the vibrant balanced and seriously persistent finish. There is fine depth of material here and while this is somewhat awkward today I see no reason why this shouldn't be excellent in time.

Jancis Robinson - Jancis Robinson, January 2013
Subtle bright dark ruby. Rich and evolved nose. Sweet and charming with great infused rose-petal nose and structure. Real energy here – and not too closed. Seductive. Roses all the way. Charm a go go! Long. 18/20

Joyously ripe, this flaunts its sweet flavors of Bing cherries and fresh figs while the wine's potent structure keeps it on track. The gloss of sweetness doesn't diminish the flavor intensity or the wine's lift in the finish. The Grand Cru expression is hidden behind baby fat for now, but there's a sense of completeness and balance that suggests cellaring it for ten years or more.
