A very ripe but attractively fresh nose features liqueur-like aromas of black cherry, cassis, violet and plum that are nuanced by hints of earth and game. The very rich, full and velvet-textured flavors possess an abundance of dry extract that confers a seductive mouth feel onto the robust and ever-so-mildly rustic finish that is at once long, serious and moderately austere. This well-balanced effort should age well for many years and note that an abundance of patience will be required.

91+ Bright and deep crimson. Real depth and vibrancy here. Bitter cherries. Bone dry rather than flattering which should become a really fine wine with time. All the elements are there. Fine tannins. Zest. Lots of fruit impact with a Beaune lift rather than Nuits grunt. Very promising. Very vital. 17.5+/20
