Meaty and gamey notes on the nose make way for red fruit underneath. The mouthfeel is fresh and lively, surely a reflection of the vineyard's steep, limestone soils. The wine feels weightless, yet still fills the mouth with racy, grape tannins. You can literally taste this young wine evolve and change by the minute. A unique pinot from a classic producer who managed to coax the terroir from the Les Chenes Carteaux alongside the opulent fruit that is the signature of the 2009 vintage.
