91+ I revisited the 2009 Pruliers while tasting the brilliant 2010 Gouges wines out of barrel and was struck by how well the domaine tended to avoid the very overripe side of the vintage. The 2009 Pruliers offers up a pretty and complex nose of black cherries, cassis, chocolate, a bit of game, lovely soil tones and a floral topnote. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, nascently complex and rock solid at the core, with ripe tannins and a long, powerful finish. There is just a whisper at the very backend of this wine that speaks to the ripeness of this year, and I would not be surprised to see this wine evolve along the lines of the 1990 Pruliers. A very good example of the vintage.
