(NM90-92 points) Tasted out of barrel at the Domaine. The Beaux Bruns has what you might describe as a “sedate” bouquet that is well defined with hints of dark cherry, mulberry and a touch of orange essence. Blossoms in the glass. The palate is full-bodied with sinewy entry like the Lavaux St. Jacques, quite chewy but with good acidity, clamming up towards the finish. This is a masculine Chambolle with firm tannins at the moment that should mellow by the time of bottling.

Chocolatey oak, caramel and coffee on the rather anonymous, slightly warm nose, with an exotic aspect. Sweet and creamy but a bit chunky in texture, with very ripe hints of torrefaction. Concentrated and rich but I wanted a bit more verve and primary fruit character. Finishes with firm tannins. - Stephen Tanzer
