Here the nose is similar but more reserved and offers just a bit more overt minerality that also characterizes the firm precise and pure flavors that possess so much extract that it confers a textured character to the vibrant and exceptionally persistent finish. This is a focused effort that exhibits controlled power and a lovely sense of underlying tension. Worth a look as this is quite good. - Comments: Sweet spot Outstanding ♥

The 2009 Guettes was the last wine in the cellar to finish up its malolactic fermentation in the cellars and was still a tad reduced at the time of my visit at the end of November. The nose shows of a lovely mélange of black cherries plums cocoa smoke stony soil tones and incipient notes of game. On the palate the wine is deep full-bodied and broad shouldered with impressive elegance and purity a fine core of fruit ripe tannins and a long chewy finish. This will be very good and again shows absolutely no signs of sur maturité. (drink 2016-2040)
