Spicy and perfumed with a ready to go profile the 2009 Domaine de la Charbonnière Vacquerays is a blend of 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah that's aged all in large neutral oak tanks. Possessing loads of sweet blackberry and black cherry-like characteristics to go with underlying spice garrigue and touches of meat on the nose the wine is medium-bodied beautifully fruited with good concentration and a long clean finish. Overall this is a very solid Vacqueyras that should have a decade of prime drinking.

Dark in color the aromas are slightly rustic as hints of earth mingle with dried fruit and wood notes. The palate offers up a moderate amount of concentrated boysenberry and loganberry flavors that are fresh and lively thanks to some tangy acidity on the finish. Round in texture the finish is soft with very faint earthy tannins. Best between 2012-2016.
