Robert Parker's Wine Advocate - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, October 2010
The 2009 Chateauneuf du Pape has oodles of black raspberry and kirsch notes intermixed with roasted Provencal herbs, licorice, and spice box. Medium to full bodied, dense, and impeccably well-made.

Deep ruby red core with a beautiful medium ruby red rim. The nose is intoxicating with aromas of kirsch, boysenberry, vanilla, clove, cardomom, and crushed rocks. The nose is intoxicating with aromas of kirsch, boysenberry, vanilla, clove, cardomom, and crushed rocks. Super clean and fresh on the palate with lively acidity and silky soft tannins. Finishes long with a hint of dark cherry liqueur. Already drinking well but should age effortlessly for a decade plus.

Textbook and traditional on the nose, with loads of Provencal herbs, green peppercorns, leather, and licorice, as well as copious amounts of juicy plum and blackberry styled fruits, the 2009 Pierre-Henri Morel... Textbook and traditional on the nose, with loads of Provencal herbs, green peppercorns, leather, and licorice, as well as copious amounts of juicy plum and blackberry styled fruits, the 2009 Pierre-Henri Morel Châteauneuf-du-Pape is medium-bodied+ on the palate and possesses plenty of rich fruit, good balance, and notable structure on the finish. While not quite as impressive as the Pignan, this nevertheless is an excellent Châteauneuf-du-Pape that should drink nicely for 8-10 years.
