The Sigalas-Rabaud has a well defined nose: grapefruit, nectarine, honey and lime, much more primal than some of the other 2009s. The palate is very well balanced with excellent acidity: apricot, honeysuckle, a touch of orange zest and then vibrant white peach bursting across the finish with lime flower and lemongrass on the aftertaste. Wonderful persistency, power and freshness. Without question: the 2009 is the best Sigalas-Rabaud that I have tasted and this nectar comes highly recommended.

This wine is still very closed. That said, its promise is in the rich, weighty texture. It shows a ripe feel, with orange and lemon freshness. On the finish, the acidity is dominant.

Fresh, floral aromas of apricot, citrus fruits and saffron. Not a huge wine but boasts lovely fruit concentration and inner-mouth aromatic perfume, with juicy acidity nicely lifting the flavors of candied lemon peel, apricot and honey. Lighter and more subtle than most Sauternes, this is neither honeyed nor syrupy but rather delicate, compact and very well balanced. Finishes moderately long, with a pretty white pepper note. Sigalas-Rabaud can be a very Barsac-like Sauternes; and though it can pair with a number of dishes, even white meats, it always makes an outstanding aperitif. It's no different in '09.

Very pale. Rich and tense and not that sweet but exciting! Nerveux. Yes! Tense and well judged even if a little astringent on the finish. Long. 18/20
