This is a decidedly intense, powerful Mazoyeres that needs time to shed its baby fat. The aromatics are expressive and intensely perfumed, but at the moment it is the weight of the year that comes through most. The seductive finish is incredibly inviting. Anticipated maturity: 2019-2029. 94+ - Antonio Galloni

Here the nose is actually quite similar to that of the Charmes though it is slightly more deeply pitched. There is superb richness to the round and impressively concentrated big-bodied flavors that are both bigger and firmer with robust and moderately rustic tannins that are in keeping with the broad-scaled, intense and powerful finish. This isn't as refined as the Charmes but it is a picture perfect version of a classic Mazoyères. Well worth considering as this is excellent though note that plenty of patience will be required.
