Fermented with close to 30% whole cluster and aged for 13 months in older French hogsheads, the 2009 Two Hands Grenache Aerope has intense, savory aromatics of ground pepper, cocoa powder, and leather that are rounded out by mainly ripe red berry and kirsch like notes. Despite the savory, dry aromatic profile, this explodes on the palate with a juicy burst of fruit, solid texture, good acidity, and a clean, long finish. While this should have a decade or longer of prime drinking, I don’t see any reason to hold off either.
