The Destieux '10 has a rich decedent bouquet with layers of dark cherry fruit vanilla and a touch of yellow plum. Fine delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with fine quite supple tannins good acidity lacking just a little weight towards the finish with good linearity. This may merit a higher score after bottling. Very fine.

2010: This 2010 appeared to have just come off malolactic fermentation as it was grapy and primary with a disjointed personality. Normally a very strong effort from proprietor Dauriac it should calm down with further time in barrel. It exhibits a dense purple color along with lots of chocolatey oaky notes a big full-bodied mouthfeel and an excruciatingly tannic finish. Hence the reservations denoted by the question mark.
