Tasted at the Circle de Rive Droite. The La Fleur du Gay has a beautiful floral almost Margaux-like nose with blueberry cases and dark plum intertwined with great mineralité. The palate is very well defined and quite linear good grip with firm dry tannins cloaked in ripe dark berried fruit. My only concern is that is cuts away surprisingly abruptly towards the shellfish-tinged finish. This should mellow during élevage and possibly merit a higher score in a couple of years.

Deep garnet colored, the 2010 La Fleur de Gay features a lot of cedar/oak to begin, giving way to a core of black cherry preserves, warm blueberries and spice cake plus wafts of tobacco and new leather. Full-bodied, the palate has an abundance of rugged, chewy tannins with rather attenuated fruit and a rustic finish.- LPB
