Very chewy with wonderful blueberry and mineral character. Hints of mint too. Full and super classy. Love the texture of the tannins. Hyper-refined in texture

Pape Clement - Black in color smoke truffle burning wood jammy blackberry earth and hot stone aromas are found with ease. This concentrated powerful wine is filled with sweet ripe boysenberry cassis and licorice. Polished supple and opulent in texture the wine ends with a long pure fresh blackberry liqueur sensation. Some tasters will appreciate that this is toned down from the full throttle 2005.

A flashy modern style with lots of dark fig anise and graphite notes pushed by more black currant sauce and tar. Ample toast runs through the finish but this has plenty of raw material.

A truly unique winery how many estates can trace their history back seven centuries and to a pope? They were the first estate to destem their entire crop by hand an enormous physical effort that takes two teams of 100 people per day throughout the harvest to process the 46 hectares. They use ploughing instead of chemicals and have even brought a horse in from Burgundy to help plough the vineyards with minimal vibration that the tractors give off. The nose is welcoming with red and blue fruits chocolate and vanilla bean. Plush in the mouth with ample saline minerality and tons of fruit this is a pure and expressive red. Very sexy and generous while keeping your attention with focus. The tannins unfold magnificently on the long and incredible finish. Bravo. Drink 2020-2040. Tasted three times with consistent notes.
