Brittan's 2010 Pinot Noir Gestalt Block smells pungently intriguingly and unusually of huckleberry gunpowder green tea and intimations of marine breeze and quarry dust all of which latch onto a bitter-edged palate-staining sappy matrix of fresh blackberry and black raspberry. If anything (if possible!) even more focused and vibrant than its Basalt Block sibling this is no less remarkably buoyant and yet more evidently even blatantly extract-rich with a firm but polished feel and manifest but fine-grained tannins. There is a savory invigoration of mineral salts and berry seed that I can't get off my gums. Anticipate I predict a decade or more of fascination.
