More concentrated and powerful, the 2010 Ermitage Les Greffieux is thrilling on all accounts. More of a long-term prospect than the ’11, it offers massive creme de cassis, scorched earth, graphite and crushed-rock like minerality to go with a full-bodied, rich, textured and structured profile on the palate. The purity here is off-the-charts and this incredible Syrah should be given 4-5 years in the cellar and enjoyed over the following two decades. - Jeb Dunnuck

Fleshy floral-accented cassis and blueberry flavors are firmed by gentle tannins. Gains sweetness minerality and depth with air finishing with a suave note of candied violet slow-building tannins and noteworthy grip. For a rich wine this is surprisingly elegant.
