jamessuckling.com, February 2015

There's a very assertive nose here that has a gently flinty edge, some nicely handled oak and hints of pithy lemon across more peachy stone fruits; tropical hints too, plus a chalky element. Very fresh and tightly wound...

James Halliday, September 2013

Bright yellow-green; the sheer purity and intensity of this wine is remarkable, even in the context of its imperious ancestry; it has its own flavour and tactile characters stemming from the perfect balance between the...

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, March 2016

Very floral on the nose with white blossoms and honeysuckle, the 2010 Chardonnay Art Series gives way to notes of orange preserves, toasted nuts, baking bread and clover honey. Evolving gracefully, this medium-bodied wine...

Wine Spectator, August 2013

Aromatically tight, but expansive and expressive in the mouth, pouring out its pear, green guava and fig flavors in a generous stream, with glints of spice. Comes together smoothly on a deftly balanced frame to let the...

Wine Enthusiast, February 2014

Having earned its reputation as one of Australia’s finest Chardonnays, the challenge is then to maintain that level of quality. The 2010 Art Series certainly does that. Enticing aromas of woodsmoke, peach and pink...

Leeuwin Estate is a family-owned Australian winery and one of the five founding wineries in the now famous Margaret River district of Western Australia. Formerly a cattle ranch, the property was converted to vineyards by Denis and Tricia Horgan upon the advice of legendary Napa Valley winemaker Robert Mondavi when he visited Australia and saw the estate’s potential as being ideal for the production of premium wines.

The estate enjoyed its first commercial vintage in 1979 and was quickly thrust into the international spotlight when Decanter Magazine gave its highest recommendation to the 1980 "Art Series" Chardonnay. Leeuwin now exports to 30 markets. The estate releases wines under the Art Series, Prelude Vineyards and Siblings labels.

Celebrating the combination of fine wine, food, art and music, Leeuwin features an award winning restaurant, cellar door and art gallery. The estate is renowned for staging spectacular events and welcoming visitors from around the world.

The “Art Series” represents Leeuwin’s most opulent & age-worthy wines from each vintage. They are identified with paintings commissioned from leading contemporary Australian artists.

Leeuwin Art Series Chardonnay is aromatically complex and packed with flavor but maintains vivid acidity. The wine is fruit forward, typically citrus-driven but also showing pear and nuances of stone fruit. Oak-aging adds depth and gentle accents, such as cinnamon, but no overt woody notes. The wines easily age, and improve, for a good 15 years.
